This morning I was watching Real Time with Bill Maher on HBO.   He made a statement I thought was interesting.   It went something like this:

“We live in a Rock Band Society . . . everyone wants to be a Rock Star, but nobody wants to learn the chords.”

  2. If  you do agree:
    1. What is the cause?
    2. How do we change this?

I think this is fair, especially with the younger generations. We want it all but are, statistically, not willing to put in the work to get it. Our expectations are much larger than our realization. At least this is what I read, and it is a very large generalization about our demographic. But, it was true with me. I wanted a management job and the pay check that goes with it and expected it to be mine because I put in the time. What I failed to realize is putting in the time is not all that completes the equation, there are other variables (politics, education, etc) that also need to fall into place to get what we want.
